PRINCIPAL
A practicing architect for the past 25 years and a recognized expert on environmentally responsible design, Chris Stafford has designed new and renovation projects for government agencies, institutions and private residences. He has consulted on environmental responsible projects for public agencies and other professionals. Additionally Chris was an invited speaker and workshop leader at universities and government agencies. He is a founding member of American Institute of Architects’ Committee on the Environment and has served as a committee chair for the “Greening of the White House” project in Washington, DC. He is a co-founder and past president of the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild.

Chris’ publications include: Commercial Construction Buy Recycled Guide; National Recycling Coalition, Washington, DC (1995), Co-Author, Designing with Vision: Public Building Guidelines for the 21st Century; The Stafford Architects, Inc. A client (Cohn indoor pool project) in 1984, with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), first introduced Chris to indoor air quality problems caused by building materials. Form that time, designing to lessen IAQ impacts has been a major element in his practice. From that point his interest in building industry related environmental impacts grew to the environmentally responsible design practice he has today.
