Habitat For Humanity

Judkins Park; Seattle, Washington

For this eight-unit housing project in Seattle’s Judkins Park, planning and design services were contributed in 1993 — assimilating energy conservation measures, reducing material quantities, and incorporating resource-efficient and recycled content materials. Cement content was reduced in the foundations by replacing 20% of the cement with flyash, a waste product of coal fired generators and a careful analysis of insulation and framing techniques resulted in a 50% savings of exterior wood framing materials.
