The Burnett Residence
Langley, Washington
This family of six moved into their 1,960 interior square foot, plus 400 sf for lofts, straw bale house Summer of 1997. Space is included for the children’s home schooling and the father’s home office. Constructed with wheat straw, it is a combination of four load bearing and hybrid strawbale structures. The wall raising was done in a three day construction workshop lead by Chris Stafford, with participants coming from three states and Canada.
